The idea for the project came into existence a year ago during a fashion photo shoot. The models all look very good anyway in the classical sense. Then the idea came to me to photograph the models in portrait style someday. I had the models unusually styled by the make-up artist: away from the classic, perfect image, different hair than usual. Elaborate make-up, sometimes crazy, sometimes colourful. I had the make-up artist experiment with colour. Sometimes sombre. Sometimes fanciful, unusual, mad. But always suitable to the model's type. My goal was to show another side of the model, as has not been seen before - embracing the model's personality, underlining the character. In this way a somewhat different portrait series came into being, and the idea was born to make a coffee-table book out of it. Meanwhile, I receive many applications from models specifically for this project. At the end of the year the project should be finished. A selection of pictures is to be published in a photo book and large format images will be displayed in an exhibition.
